about our studio and teachers
We Strive to provide the best music education in Meridian
Our goal is simple at Ruckus Studios – we want every student, whether a child or adult, to become an enthusiastic, skilled, versatile, and independent musician.
Leif Nelson
Leif picked up the guitar for the first time when he was nine years old and hasn’t looked back. Over the years he has played with countless bands, toured with Asbury University, headlined the God and Country Festival, obtained a BS in worship studies from Liberty University and so much more. Leif has been teaching private guitar lessons for the past six years and would consider it one of his greatest passions. He also currently serves as the music director at Church 7:24.
Joey Young
Joey fell in love with music very young, and since picking up a guitar at eight has been completely taken with playing and creating music. Joey has played on worship teams since he was fourteen, and has served as the worship director for multiple churches. His time as the youth director at his church instilled a passion for connecting with and inspiring the next generation. Outside of church Joey has spent his young adult years playing gigs and writing with friends , but Joey’s favorite project is his alternative-rock band Alandria, in which he plays guitar, sings, and writes. With Alandria Joey has released two albums, and played dozens of shows alongside many successful touring bands.
Joey has a distinct passion for creating and expression through music, and loves to teach and help others.
Tayla nelson
Tayla has loved singing for all her life and began singing professionally three years ago. She has sung for several local events, along with traveling to lead worship for multiple camps and conferences in the northwest states. Tayla is passionate about helping her students to discover their personal love for singing, develop their own unique voice, and ultimately become the best singer they can be.
VALENTINA KHACHATUROVA
Valentina’s love towards music started when she was six. She grew up studying with the Treasure Valley Music Teachers Association and Tuesday Musical for over eight years, winning first, second, and third awards in competitions and scholarships. She has played with various orchestras, jazz bands, and worship teams from the age of ten. In 2025, Valentina participated in an Assembly of God Fine Arts, winning third nationally with Church 7:24. Valentina’s goal for her students is to spark a passion for creating their own art.
